Hasselt calls itself the Capital of Taste, a city to be experienced with all senses: seeing, feeling, smelling and tasting. The charm, access and central location in the Euregion Meuse-Rhine are only a few of the assets of the city. Hasselt has a surprising shopping offering, plenty of small and bigger bistros and restaurants, lots of cozy spots, inspiring culture houses, coffee bars and pubs.
Hasselt is the capital of the Belgian province of Limburg and has about 75,500 inhabitants. The city is located on the north-east side of Belgium, near the Dutch and German border. Brussels, Aachen and Antwerp are only one hour away by train and car. The cozy city center of Hasselt is a pedestrian zone where everything is within walking distance. The conference venue is located in the center and is easily accessible by train, bus and car.
